NAV CANADA, the country's provider of civil air navigation services, conducted an assessment of the airspace requirements in the vicinity of Montréal, QC.
The assessment determined that, in order to reduce controller workload within the affected control towers, the shared boundary between the Montréal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (CYUL) Control Zone and the Montréal Metropolitan Airport (CYHU) Control Zone will be repositioned. The boundary will be moved from the south shore of the St. Lawrence River to approximately the midpoint of the river, between the Champlain Bridge and the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel.
The modified airspace in the vicinity of Montréal will appear in the Designated Airspace Handbook (TP 1820E) as follows:
