External Design Organization Documents

Aerodromes may from time-to-time access the services of contractors to conduct specific work related to instrument flight procedures. NAV CANADA collectively refers to instrument design contractors as External Design Organizations (EDOs).

EDOs register with NAV CANADA and have submission requirements allowing NAV CANADA to review and publish their submitted designs. NAV CANADA has a review process for designs submitted by EDOs to ensure accuracy and compliance to regulations and instrument procedure design criteria.

As an Aerodrome, the document Instrument Procedure Design Submission Overview for Aerodromes (P‑IPD-102) provides an overview of the process and requirements for submission of instrument procedures to NAV CANADA for review and publishing.

As an External Design Organization that is not registered, please contact service@navcanada.ca for more information on the requirements for registration and the submission process.
