Summer Student Employment Program
NAV CANADA is excited to launch our 2017 Summer Student Program!
As a Summer Student, you will improve your skills and gain valuable work experience in your area of study by working with outstanding professionals and learning about NAV CANADA and Canada’s Air Navigation Service. As an organization focused on collaboration and team work, we provide opportunities for students to share ideas and perspectives. For NAV CANADA, the Summer Student Program is an opportunity to identify highly skilled talent for future positions.
What are the qualifications?
To qualify for a NAV CANADA summer job:
- You must be 16 years of age or older
- You must be legally able to work in Canada
- You must be enrolled full time in a secondary or post-secondary program and returning to school in the fall
- You must have proof of your school enrollment
- If you are 18 years old or older, you must complete a police or a criminal record check
How do I apply?
You must apply between January 9, 2017 and February 17, 2017 for the 2017 Summer Student Employment Program. Late applications will not be accepted.

When applying to a position, you will be required to create a profile and answer pre-screening questions. We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
If successful, the following documents will be required prior to being hired:
- Proof of age documentation
- Proof of student status
- Void cheque from a financial institution
- Social insurance card

What is the status of my application, will I be considered?
We receive a high volume of applications and cannot provide status updates on individual applications.
Generally, we will commence the applicant review process after the official closing date of the competition.

Hiring managers will be initially selecting and contacting successful candidates between February and March, 2017. The majority of, but not all, summer students start employment with NAV CANADA on May 1, 2017. However, summer hiring continues on into the summer months and candidates may still be contacted throughout the months of May, June, July and August.
How will I be notified?
The usual method of contacting applicants is by telephone. However, hiring managers may choose to contact you by other means, such as e-mail.
