What is Explore Aviation Summer Camp?
Explore Aviation Summer Camp will inspire participants to explore their personal and career potential in aviation. It offers 24 young women and 24 young men entering Grade 10 or secondary 4 insider access to learn how aviation works in Canada, and about the people who help keep aircraft flying safely.
This week long, all-expenses-paid camp uses hands-on learning to give teens the chance to experience the career potential of a science education and to be empowered to reach for success in aviation or other technology or engineering fields.
Where will it be
The camp will be
based at NAV CENTRE, Cornwall, ON, with day trips to Montreal and Ottawa.
When will it take
The camp for young women takes place July 14-19, 2019. The camp for young men takes place August 11-16, 2019.
The camp is open to teens going into Grade 10 or secondary 4 in September 2019.

introduced to the world of aviation and the people who keep Canada’s air navigation
system operating. They will learn more about careers such as air traffic
controller, flight service specialist, electronics technologist, and engineer,

Explore Aviation Summer Camp
- A completed application form
- An essay explaining why the participant wants to attend Explore Aviation Summer Camp (350 to 500 words)
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher or community leader. Please include their contact information.

What is the cost
The camp is paid
for by a NAV CANADA bursary, which includes flight and other transfers, and room
and board for the week.
How will applicants
know they’ve been selected?
NAV CANADA will
email successful applicants during the week of April 8, 2019. Candidates must reply by April 30, 2018, to
confirm their placement.
10. Who will supervise the camp participants?
Participants at Explore Aviation Summer Camp are
mentored and supervised by qualified NAV CANADA personnel at all times. All
camp supervisors and co-ordinators have completed security checks.
