Duties:

Controls the domestic and international NOTAM* systems; disseminates national/international information vital for the safe, efficient and economic use of national and international air operations; reacts immediately to system failures of the automated NOTAM system; and responds to enquiries from domestic/foreign/military/air carriers and the general aviation public.

*NOTAM – A notice containing information concerning the establishment, condition or change in any aeronautical facility, service, procedure or hazard, the timely knowledge of which is essential to personnel concerned with flight operations

Education:

Successful completion of secondary school OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Post-secondary education would be considered an asset.

Experience:

  • Significant and diversified experience in using the CanadianAir Navigation System consistent with experience such as a pilot, air traffic controller, air navigator, flight service station specialist or operational support specialist in the operational environment.
  • Experience in the processing of aeronautical information.
  • Experience in the use of computer applications.
