Administration and General Counsel

As Legal Counsel, you will use your legal acumen to deal with a variety of challenging issues and projects. Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, the Legal Counsel is responsible for providing legal services, advice, and support to various areas of NAV CANADA, and to ensure corporate compliance with established laws.
Manage and oversee a variety of corporate& commercial matters including Commercial transactions, Real Estate transactions, and Corporate Affairs.
Provide legal advice and support to internal clients regarding corporate & commercial matters
Respond to inquiries with respect to interpretation of legislation and regulations affecting NAV CANADA
Draft various documents including legal opinions, agreements and reports and conducts legal research Assist senior legal staff as required
Law degree and membership in good standing at the provincial bar
One (1) to three (3) years' experience in corporate and commercial law obtained from a law firm and/or corporate law department
Knowledge of the following areas of law would be a definite asset: real estate, commercial agreements, and litigation.
Ability to work independently while being an effective member in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple files in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all business divisions within NAV CANADA.
Excellent communication skills, strong drafting and negotiation skills.
An ability to work in both official languages is required.
