As Vice-President, Engineering at NAV CANADA, Kim Troutman is responsible for the day-to-day management of engineering capital projects involving air traffic management, telecommunications, surveillance, and navigation systems. He is also responsible for system engineering and life cycle management of operational systems.
Prior to assuming this position, Mr. Troutman was instrumental in establishing in-house development teams with common project management and development methodologies, which effectively streamlined the development process. He also played an important
role in overall capital planning and delivery of operational Air Traffic Control systems.
Before joining NAV CANADA in 1996, Mr. Troutman was Director of PRIOR Data Science’s Air Traffic Control Division, having P&L responsibility including business development and program delivery. He also worked for the Canadian Federal Public Service – predominantly at Transport Canada – in the design, development and implementation of ATC systems.
