Efficiency Initiatives that Reduce Fuel Burn and GHGs
NAV CANADA plays an important role in helping the aviation industry reduce the environmental impact of aircraft operations while maintaining a focus on safety.
Our initiatives to increase flight efficiency, including technology and procedure enhancements, have already contributed significantly to reductions in fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Our Collaborative Initiatives for Emission Reductions (CIFER) report provides a comprehensive description of our efficiency programs and their benefits to our airline customers, including cost savings.
For more on these initiatives and their results, see the latest CIFER Report or download the PDF version.
Our collaboration extends to working with the Government of Canada and our other industry partners on various activities including Canada’s Action Plan to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Aviation and an International Aviation Industry Commitment to Action on Climate Change.
Our own Corporate Policy on the Environment, designed to ensure Company-wide support for our environmental goals, is backed up by our Environmental Management System, which is registered to the industry benchmark standard, ISO 14001.
