Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs
As Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs, Mr. Norgaard is responsible for providing executive leadership and direction in the areas of employee and corporate communications, government relations and public affairs and translation services. He also acts as the Official Languages Champion for NAV CANADA.
With more than 20 years of experience in public affairs and corporate communications in public, private, and non-profit sectors, Mr. Norgaard has extensive expertise in organizational and change communications, stakeholder outreach, crisis communications and reputation management.
Before joining NAV CANADA, Mr. Norgaard served as Director General of Communications at the National Research Council (NRC) Canada. There, he led a brand redevelopment strategy and implementation, the modernization of tools and channels to improve internal communication, and the launch of NRC’s business transformation. Mr. Norgaard has also served as the Director of Communications for the Canadian Association of Broadcasters and as a researcher and reporter for CBC’s Newsday Ottawa.
Mr. Norgaard holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Radio and Television Arts and Broadcasting from Ryerson University and Master’s Certificates in both Marketing and Public Administration from Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business.
